Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) recently made the devastating decision to dump lover Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) in EastEnders, after son Vinny (Shiv Jalota) discovered their affair and left her with an ultimatum.
When Vinny threatened to tell Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) everything unless Suki ended things, she decided to break it off with Eve in order to protect them both from the wrath of her killer husband.
But that doesn’t mean it was an easy decision, and Suki is set to be struck by the weight of her decision in upcoming episodes when she believes that Eve may be moving on.
‘I don’t think that Eve is in any way ready to move on, but she is trying desperately,’ actress Heather Peace revealed.
‘Eve is convinced the Suki thing is done and that this is absolutely it, so she understands that she needs to try to move on, but it’s very obvious that she’s not ready.’
When a woman called Caz comes into the café asking after Eve, Suki soon grows jealous, and, assuming that she is Eve’s latest love interest, jumps in to stop Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) from revealing Eve’s whereabouts.
Unfortunately for Suki, word gets round to Eve that Caz is looking for her, and she soon heads out to investigate her secret admirer, eventually accepting a date with her.
Though Eve is clearly still on the rebound, Heather admits that it is Suki she truly loves.
‘I think Suki is the love of her life, and I don’t think she’s ever felt like this before about anyone ever. Their connection is too deep.
‘But Suki is now unobtainable, and Eve thinks it’s all done, so she has to try to make the best of it and meet someone else, I guess.’
However, what she doesn’t know is that her date is hiding a huge secret, that is set to completely turn her world upside down.
‘It’s a massive chunk of Eve’s history coming back to haunt her, and this is pretty much the most shocking person she could bump into.’
