Isabel has been an integral part of Emmerdale ever since she joined back in 2006. She plays the role of Victoria Sugden in the ITV soap and has been involved in plenty of big storylines over the years.
She has been involved in stories such as running over the late vicar Ashley Thomas and leaving him in hospital to losing the love of her life and suffering a harrowing rape attack.
Even now, it looks as though Victoria is still going through a series of highs and lows. Her acting career really took off when Emmerdale decided to replace the character of Victoria Sugden with a more mature actress.
The character of Victoria had been in the show since 1994 and had been played by Jessica Haywood from 1994–1998) and Hannah Midgley in 1998–2006.
But, in an attempt to change the character, it was decided that the role should be re-cast which is when Isabel got her big break. The then 12-year-old Hodgins landed the role and began filming on 21 August 2006. Her first episode aired on 12 October 2006.
She has been in the show ever since and has even been nomintaed multiple awards for her acting work. In 2007 she was nominated for Best Newcomer at the TV Choice and TV Quick awards.
She was also nominated for the Spectacular Scene of the Year award at the British Soap Awards 2007 for the scene where Victoria and Billy Hopwood were involved in a truck crash. The then following year in 2008, she was nominated for Best Young Actress at the Inside Soap Awards.
On 4 May 2009, it was revealed that Isabel had been shortlisted in the Best Dramatic Performance from a Young Actor or Actress category at the British Soap Awards, however she ended up losing out to EastEnders’ Maisie Smith.
