Emmerdale viewers baffled as Lydia makes bold decision after horrifying rape ordeal
Fans of ITV's long-running soap Emmerdale have been left baffled once again, after Lydia Dingle returned to work at Craig Reed's swanky office despite her recent turmoil
Emmerdale viewers were left confused on Tuesday night (September 12) after Lydia Dingle returned to work in the same office with her rapist, Craig Reed.
Lydia has been trying her best to continue business as usual by blocking out her feelings following her tragic rape ordeal.
During the latest episode, Lydia went back to clean at Craig’s swanky offices with her stepson Samson in tow who also visited the establishment for work experience.
But given the fact that Lydia has gone through such a tragic experience, viewers at home found it odd that she was still able to return to work.

Heading over to X, formerly known as Twitter, fans shared their thoughts on Lydia’s bold decision.
One social media user wrote: “Lydia has turned up for work at creepy Craig’s business!”
Another said: “Lydia going back to work at the rapist’s. As you do. Tsk. Tsk.”
While a third said: “So, Lydia hasn’t told anyone about Craig raping her and she is still going to work in his offices daily.”

Distressed viewers also thought Lydia should report Craig for the crime he’s committed.
Heading over to the social media platform again, one fan wrote: “I wished we could’ve seen Lydia reporting Craig immediately (yes I know she’s still in shock) be better than watching him pretend that everything is fine.”
Another penned: “Plz soap gods tell me Lydia tells people about the rape sooner rather than later.”
“For goodness sake, Lydia, tell someone, for crying out loud. Why suffer this torment, ” a third begged.

During Tuesday’s show, Lydia received flowers while at work which were from Craig.
As everyone sang Craig’s praises, it was evident that Lydia was becoming increasingly frustrated.
Trying to mask his vile behaviour, businessman Craig also told Lydia that they “don’t have to be weird with each other if you want to”.
But although Lydia has continued to remain tight-lipped regarding her suffering with no one noticing her demeanour, Mandy Dingle has seemingly observed that something is wrong.
Will Mandy be able to help Lydia in her time of need?
