Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) has struggled to come to terms with the fact that she still has feelings for ex-husband Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) in Emmerdale.
In upcoming scenes, both Charity and Mack will find the enforced distance between them completely devastating, until Charity decides to do something about it.
Realising how painful it will be to stay in the village, Charity decides it is time to take some time away, and arranges to visit daughter Debbie up in Scotland.
Debbie has been living there since 2019, and has been visited on several occasions by daughter Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), who on one such visit took Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) with her to keep Mack and Chloe apart.
Charity plans a getaway
With Charity’s plan set in stone, she prepares to leave, only to be stopped in dramatic circumstances.
Mack, who has learnt of Charity’s plan, feels like he’s been punched in the gut, and decides he will do everything he can to make her stay.
His genius idea is to lay down in front of her car so that she physically can’t go anywhere.
He makes a heartfelt plea for her to stay in the village and soon they are declaring their true love for one another.
However, there is still one person that stands in the way of their happiness, and that is Chloe.
Mack promises to face the music and dump Chloe, but will he go through with it?
When he goes to have the difficult conversation, Charity is concerned to see them emerge from the house and immediately board an ambulance, following a shock collapse from Chloe.
But did Mack manage to tell all before she passed out?
