in upcoming Emmerdale episodes, Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) makes a careless mistake that has enormous consequences – and Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) makes sure she pays for what she’s done.
Gabby is taking no prisoners
Gabby, as viewers know, is currently keen to sell HOP, as she’s desperate to get away from Emmerdale as quickly as she can.
Even with the comforts of Home Farm, living in the village has become unbearable to her as long as there’s any chance of bumping into Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope) or his dad Caleb (William Ash).
Gabby hasn’t been able to move on from the humiliation of discovering on the morning of her wedding to Nicky that he wouldn’t marry her because he’s gay – and had only been pretending to love her as part of his dad’s revenge plan against Kim Tate (Claire King).
Every time Gabby sees Nicky – who is now in a relationship with the Hide’s chef Suni Sharma (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) – it feels like a slap in the face to her.
She made the decision she wants to sell up and leave the country, taking her son Thomas with her. This has upset Thomas’s grandmother Kim, but it’s a mark of how determined Gabby is that she hasn’t let Kim’s various threats change her plans.
Wanting to get as much money for her businesses as possible to fund her new life, Gabby has been trying to build her empire up and she arranges a tasting event to showcase the new menu items that Suni and Victoria have come up with for the Hide.
That’s when things go horribly wrong, as during the event Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) has a severe allergic reaction to a slider he eats. Victoria has reassured him the product is nut-free, but that’s not the case and soon Jacob is in hospital and fighting for his life.
None of this is a good look for potential buyers of HOP, obviously, especially with Jacob’s mum Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) on the warpath and threatening all kinds of retribution against the business.
Victoria explains to Gabby that what happened was an honest mistake and she’s mortified, but Gabby’s main concern is that she’s losing buyers for the business and her dream of moving abroad is vanishing before her eyes.
She fires Victoria on the spot, leaving her feeling completely alone and devastated about how things have turned out.
