David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) made a big decision in recent Emmerdale scenes ahead of his emotional exit story.
David admits that he still has feelings for Victoria
Viewers saw David arriving at the house of ex-girlfriend Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) in order to babysit son Harry while she went out on a date with an old school friend.
Though she was excited for the date, it soon became clear that he wasn’t her type, as his obsession with taking photos for social media left her feeling irritated.
It wasn’t long before she excused herself, and arrived home early to find David playing happily with Harry.
As Victoria revealed all about her ‘diabolical date’ to David, she revealed that she at least felt a bit tipsy, which led David to take a trip down memory lane.
The pair recounted memories of being drunk together, before David decided that it was time to go back to work.
As he left, Victoria remarked that she’d have been better off staying in with him, leaving David feeling smug.
Upon returning to work, David recounted to Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant) how Victoria’s date had ‘got his back up’, despite having previously said that he was glad she was moving on.
He revealed that he had lied about that, and following their chat and giggles earlier, he had come to the realisation that his feelings for her hadn’t changed.
He went on to explain that he feels as though he may have a chance to win her back, and he just needs to find a way.
Will he succeed?
We know that David is set to leave the Emmerdale village pretty soon, and upcoming scenes will see him face heartbreak as Jacob is rushed to hospital after being fed nuts.
Victoria is the one to tell him that the food is nut free, but he is soon suffering an allergic reaction.
Will Victoria’s actions lead to a change of heart for David, or will he still wish to pursue a relationship with her?
