Emmerdale spoilers: Cain and Caleb cover their tracks as secret mystery deepens

In October 2 episode of Emmerdale, it was confirmed that Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Caleb Milligan (William Ash) are hiding a secret.

They recently returned after a trip away

They left the village back in September, much to the annoyance of Moira (Natalie J Robb), and returned clearly up to something – we just don’t know what.

While we wait for more answers, let’s focus on what we actually know so far. Yesterday, after a comment from Caleb, Cain told his brother they shouldn’t join Moira for lunch in the pub as they need to spend time getting their stories straight.

Tonight, as Moira continued to ignore Cain, it became apparent his plan with Caleb was developing, as he agreed to cover ‘first thing’ tomorrow, while Caleb planned to make his way over to ‘there’ shortly.

Caleb also told his brother that they can’t communicate with each other about this over phone, as texts and data will leave a trail.

Given that Cain could barely look at Caleb a few months ago, their secret must be pretty huge for them to now work together so well.

But what are they up to?

If their plan is revealed this week, the aftermath may air during Emmerdale’s Super Soap Week.

The storyline will then play out alongside one involving Charity (Emma Atkins), Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) and Chloe (Jessie Elland), who will be at the centre of a huge car accident.

The dramatic scenes will feature the car tumbling off the side of a cliff, but who is trapped inside, and will they survive?
