Cathy has been struggling following her PMDD diagnosis and took to researching possible cures.

After learning that a hysterectomy and bilateral ovariectomy could take away her symptoms, Cathy was determined to have the procedure done, much to the horror of the adults in her life.

When Bob, Wendy and Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) all insisted that she was too young to make this decision, Cathy grew angry and upset.

When she returned home from school, her mood hadn’t improved, as she lashed out at Bob for not listening to her feelings by throwing an ornament through the B&B window.

As she continued her rampage, Wendy was caught in the crossfire, and ended up falling to the ground after being pushed by out of control Cathy.

Cathy ended up running off, and though Wendy insisted she was fine, it was clear she wasn’t.

Bob was left worried when Cathy was nowhere to be found, and wondered aloud if he should have considered allowing her to have the surgery she wanted.

Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) insisted that he was being ridiculous, as no surgeon anywhere would perform a hysterectomy on someone so young, and that he was right not to get her hopes up.

When it was revealed that Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) had found Cathy safe and well, Bob and Wendy were relieved.

Later, however, it transpired that Wendy had sprained her wrist during the fall, leaving Bob concerned.

In a shock move, he asked her to move out, claiming that it was safer for her not to be around Cathy while she was so volatile.

Cathy had made it very clear that she didn’t like Wendy or Liam after their affair, and Bob thought that having her around would just further upset Cathy.

Wendy was devastated to be asked to leave, but Bob assured her that it may help them find some romance again, by being able to go on dates together.

He then suggested that Wendy would be able to move back in once Cathy began taking her antidepressants and her mood had lifted.

However, Wendy revealed that the antidepressants may not work, unaware that a devastated Cathy was listening in.
