Colossal and life-changing violent fight ahead for Emmerdale’s Cain and Aaron Dingle

The tension has been building for weeks now, ever since Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) bundled Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) back from Italy and into an abandoned barn.

Now Emmerdale has confirmed an explosive and very violent showdown is ahead for the pair, as the hatred and anger finally explode, with colossal consequences.

Since arriving back in the village, bitter Aaron has been lashing out left, right and centre.

His mum Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) has been a significant recipient of his venom, as he still blames her for Liv’s death, considering her affair with Al was a particular catalyst.

He also subjected his so-called friend Vinny Ashdale (Bradley Johnson) to a campaign of bullying, ordering him to pay him the money he received following Liv’s passing.

More recently, the dormant feud with Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) has re-ignited, leading to a punch-up in the village.

The anger in Aaron has been bubbling – and will now erupt

It’s not the only fist-flinging altercation that Aaron is going to have, but the next one is much, much worse.

In early 2024, the bubbling fury he feels towards Cain will erupt like nothing else, leaving both parties in a serious situation as a fight goes way too far.

Beginning with the understatement of the century, Emmerdale boss Laura Shaw told Metro.co.uk: ‘Aaron and Cain are not getting on very well at all at the moment, I think it’s safe to say.

‘We’ll see some tensions building there between those two leading to a really brutal physical fight between Cain and Aaron in the new year.

‘Which one of those is going to come out on top? Who’s going to win the fight? We’ll have to wait and see if both of them come out still standing.’

Given neither of the men are used to backing down, the ramifications could be very serious and far-reaching.

Don’t overly panic though – there is some kind of hope on the horizon for Aaron and his family relations.

After a couple of years from hell for Chas, another major turn of events will follow – but she might finally find an ally in her son.

‘There’s a huge story coming up for Chas in the new year that’s going to be shocking for all her family and friends and villagers around her,’ Laura continued.

‘We know that she and Aaron have got quite a strained relationship at the moment and Aaron’s really pushing his mum away, so this could be the story that maybe brings those two back together and bonds mother and son again.’

The word ‘maybe’ is doing a lot of heavy lifting here – but we live in hope.

Reflecting on Aaron’s terrible behaviour, Danny Miller recently reflected in a chat with us: ‘I think the audience is going to hate this and hate me. It makes it interesting for a character to change.

‘It’s almost like he’s had that character change which is interesting for me to play and hopefully the audience – as amazing as they’ve always been with Aaron – will see it as a self-destructive, self-loathing path he’s on as opposed to just doing it for no reason.

‘He and Chas are colliding together in a very angry relationship but hoping there’s light at the end of the tunnel, which I’m sure there will be at some point. ‘
