EastEnders pictures for next week confirm that it’s the one we’ve all been waiting for, as Peter Beale (Thomas Law) stages his long-awaited return and be still our beating hearts!

The popular character made a brief comeback earlier this year in scenes set in France, as it was revealed that he’s been living with parents Cindy and Ian in secret, but he ultimately finds his way back to Walford next week.

Peter’s return is inadvertently set in motion by Anna Knight (Molly Rainford), who decides to ring her missing mum ‘Rose’, who viewers know to be none other than the Cindy Beale!

The barmaid, with dad George’s (Colin Salmon) blessing, makes contact with ‘Rose’ telling her mum that she misses her everyday, while also confirming that she’s now moved to Walford.

In France, Peter intercepts a text message from Anna and is positively stunned to realise that he’s got two sisters that he never knew about. Ian deletes the messages, pleading with Peter to keep quiet, not wanting Cindy to know, fearing that she’ll reconnect with ex George.

Peter, however, declares that he’s heading to Walford, with subsequent scenes seeing him arrive back home, watching as Anna and Gina (Francesca Henry) lock up for the evening.

Expect fireworks and drama aplenty as the beloved Beale settles back into the Square – with conflict aplenty!
